Why You Keep Hiring the Wrong People
Jason Huval
The right people make all the difference… right?
Exactly, but “good people are hard to find”… Cliche but it seems so true.
If you are having trouble finding the right person, then you have a recruiting problem.
There’s an old saying that goes: “be quick to fire, but slow to hire”. This is no secret, but execution is tough.
However, it only takes one great employee to make you start to think about your entire staff. Once you’ve hired one really solid what Dan Sullivan calls an “A Player” type employee, you will embrace this and want to replicate them throughout your company in the various roles you have.
As an entrepreneur I understand the needs of small and medium sized businesses very well. I know the importance of great staff is the foundation of every business. My team was fortunate in that we recognized this very early on and have developed a tried and true recruitment strategy.
With the help of our own consultants, coaches and authors such as Dan Sullivan, Dr. Benjamin Hardy and Dan Martell we have developed a much more streamlined process for hiring and retaining “A Players”.
Keep in mind that your organization is the sum of all of its parts. The hardest thing for most entrepreneurs to realize is that it is usually just a few people or maybe even just one person that is holding them back from bringing on the best talent. Your first step is to eliminate these people. This must be done first to successfully attract and retain “A Players”.
